About PACO Pumps
Welcome
to the World of PACO Pumps! Pumps are literally the heart of fluid
movement in the commercial/industrial/municipal infrastructure of
our daily life. Pumps are used to move fluids that enhance human
comfort, health, safety and productivity, therefore affecting almost
every aspect of our society. Many products used in every day life,
from food to microchips to steel to airplanes, rely on pumps for
their production. Food processing plants, electronic industry, steel
plants, commercial buildings and aircraft factories are examples
of users of pumping equipment. Energy production and equipment needed
to supply power to run our industries, heat and cool our buildings
and homes, and run our appliances, depends on pumps.
Our drinking water supply, and the disposal of our sewage and industrial
waste also relies on pumping equipment. Today, PACO has world wide
marketing and a multi-plant manufacturing network that offers one
of the finest, most complete lines of premium efficient pumps and
pumping systems, designed to meet the increasing complex needs of
the pumping world with emphasis on energy conservation. To insure
that you are specifying the best possible pump for your applications,
we encourage you to contact your nearest PACO Sales
Office, Distributor or Representative. Each office has the technical
knowledge, application experience and engineering information required
to deliver the pump best suited to your application.
PACO Pumps was founded in San Francisco, California in 1907, in
response to needs created by the great earthquake and fire of 1906.
Immediately after the last tongue of flame had been extinguished,
San Franciscans began the job of reconstruction. But, before a new
city could rise on the ruins of the old, the debris had to be removed
and excavations, flooded by burst water mains, pumped dry.
It was at this time that Samuel E. Huntting, a pioneer of the pump
industry, began the Pacific Pumping and Hoisting Company, providing
dewatering services to support reconstruction activities. As demand
for these services grew and became more sophisticated, Pacific Pumping
Company, as it became known, began the manufacture and sale of pumps.
In response to market conditions and growing needs, PACO opened
a branch assembly service center in Portland, Oregon in 1927; in
Seattle, Washington in 1936; in Los Angeles, California in 1940;
in Oakland, California in 1946; and in Dallas, Texas in 1960.
Long a member of the Hydraulic Institute, with several past presidents
having been PACO officers, PACO has continued to respond to customer
needs through emphasis on lowering life cycle costs.
Innovation in design, assisted by CAD and CAM (used by PACO since
the 1970s), have led to lines which offer reduced operating
costs (through premium efficiencies and broadening of efficiency
bands to meet system curve requirements), reduced installation costs
(through optimal sizing and broad product range) and reduced maintenance
costs (through mechanical design features and parts kits which promote
maximum reliability and minimum down time).
PACO pumps are sold today worldwide through a network of direct
sales and service centers, strategically situated regional offices,
and through an extensive representative and distributor network.
PACO is strongly committed to future
growth through a leadership position in innovation, design, technology,
and support. PACO has received both ETL approval on its entire line
of boosters and is ISO 9001 Certified.
Today, PACO Pumps main manufacturing and assembly plant is
a 250,000 square foot facility situated on 53 acres of land in Brookshire,
Texas; 40 miles west of Houston.
PACO welcomes visitors to its plant daily to examine our production
capabilities, to witness tests, or to discuss future plans and developments.
